A location hierarchy helps organize your locations into groups with a parent and sub-location relationship. For example, Main Building can be considered the parent location, with First Floor as the sub-location. Furthermore, the Mechanical Room can be a sub-location to the First Floor. This makes it easier for you to manage and locate your equipment, and helps with reports.
Read the guide below on how to create your location hierarchy.
Guide - Adding Location Family
Select the Location Module from the main menu.
Click on the name of an existing location to be the parent. This opens the detail card.
Locate the Location Family section on the card.
Click on the +Sub Location button to open the New Location form.
Enter all the details of the new sub-location.
Hit Save.
Repeat. Continue to follow these steps as needed. Start by opening the detail card for a higher level to add a sub-asset one level below.
Location Family hierarchies are visible in the Location Family section of a detail card. All locations are listed as separate items in the Locations module. Click on the Asset hierarchy icon to view the location family.
