An asset hierarchy helps organize your assets into groups with a parent and sub-asset relationship. For example, an HVAC unit can be considered the parent asset, with a blower as a sub-asset. Furthermore, a motor can be a sub-asset to the blower. This makes it easier for you to manage your equipment, and helps with reports.
Watch the video or read the guide below on how to create your asset hierarchy.

Select the Asset Module from the main menu.
Click the name of an existing asset to be the parent asset, to open the detail card.
Locate the Asset Family section in the card.
Click on the +Sub Asset button to open the New Asset form.

Repeat. Continue to follow these steps as needed. Start by opening the detail card for a higher level to add a sub-asset one level below.
Asset Family hierarchies are visible in the Asset Family section of a detail card. All assets are listed as separate items in the Asset module. There's a Parent Asset column category on the module's list view. Click on the Asset hierarchy icon to view the equipment in an asset family.
Click the setting icon to open the View Settings window where you can decide which columns of information you see in your module's list view. |
