Asset Downtime Process

A guide on the two ways that you can track asset downtime

Updated over a week ago

Asset downtime tracking allows customers to set a status as either online, which means equipment is operational or offline, either planned or unplanned. There are two ways to track downtime - via a work order or asset detail card. View more about Asset Downtime here.

Admin user must enable asset downtime tracking to the program.

Guide

Downtime Tracking - Work Order

From any New Work Order form, once an asset is selected, you have the option to toggle asset status to Offline.

After the work order is generated, the offline status is shown in several ways. The Downtime button is off and the offline status is shown next to the asset name, on both the work order and in the Work Orders module's list view.

If you don't toggle status to offline, you can go into any active work order and click the Downtime button to start tracking.

That opens the Update Manually window to log start the offline status. Enter the detail and hit the Save button.

Use the Downtime column in the Work Order module to locate the original work order created to log the offline activity.

Closing the work order prompts you to report the asset online again when you select the Completed button. You can select either:

  • Online: Now - current date and time or

  • Online: Select date and time - anytime between the start of the offline status and current time

Hit Apply to close the work order and mark the asset as online again.

Downtime Tracking - Asset Detail Card

Users can manually log previous downtime events. From the Asset module, select the asset to open the detail card then select the Status tab. Click on the Update Manually button.

This allows you to log the asset offline - unplanned or planned, and add the From - To date.

This data updates the Reliability History section. Change the date range to change the results. Not Tracking means while the feature is on, no Downtime event has been logged.

See more about your downtime events in the Asset Cost &Downtime Report.
