Create, Edit, and Delete Procedures

All about the procedure templates in the Procedures module

A maintenance procedure is a detailed, written list of instructions on specific maintenance tasks. To include Procedures in your work order, an Admin user must Enable Procedure in Admin Settings. Then you can start to create, edit, or delete the Procedures module data.

Create Guide

Once Procedures are enabled, you can then create procedures in the module, to use in your work orders.

  1. Select Procedures module from the main menu.

  2. Click the +Procedure button to open the New Procedure form.

  3. Click in the Procedure name field and give your procedure a title.

  4. Click in the Description field to describe the procedure list you're about to create.

  5. Hit Save.

  6. Click on the New Item button to open the New Procedure Item window.

  7. Enter a name or description of what should occur in the task.

  8. Select one of the following task types from the Step Type dropdown menu:

    • Checkbox - requires a checkmark

    • Date - requires a date entry

    • Inspections - logs a Pass, Flag, or Fail

    • Multiple choice - allows more than one selection

    • Number - allows a numerical entry

    • Text - allows typed answer

    • Yes, No, or N/A - requires one selection

  9. Click Save and your Procedure template is now located in the module's list view.

Edit Guide

  1. Click the name of your Procedure from the Title column in the list view to open the Procedure detail card.

  2. Click the Edit button to reopen the original New Procedure form.

  3. Click on Edit associated with a specific procedure to modify.

  4. Hit Save to close one task window after you edit.

  5. Click Save to close the edit form and get back to the Procedure detail card.

Delete Guide

You can delete the whole procedure or tasks within the procedure.

Deleted procedures, or tasks remain on existing active work orders but won't be available moving forward.

To delete a whole procedure:

  1. Click on the name to open the Procedure detail card.

  2. Click on the three dots icon.

  3. Select Delete from the dropdown.

To delete a task within a procedure:

  1. Click on the name of the procedure.

  2. Click the Edit button.

  3. Click Delete button associated with a task.

  4. Click Save.

Now Add to Work Order

Any procedure template from the Procedures module can be added to any existing work order or new Reactive or Preventive work order form. Locate the procedure field or section on the form to add.
