Admins need to enable the feature, then link work categories to users who have the "Assign to" permission. When a category is selected on a work order, the assign to field is automatically filled in. This makes the work order process faster and ensures tasks go to the correct people. This guide walks you through the steps.

Admins select Admin Settings from the main menu.
From the Manage Modules tab, select the Work Orders section.
Toggle on the Auto Assign feature.
Hit the Save button.

From Admin Settings, All Users tab, click on the name of the user to open their profile card.
Make sure the user has the "Can be assigned to work orders" toggled on. Click on the "Edit Profile" button to do so. Skip step if already enabled.
Hit the Save button and it takes you back to the Profile card.
Click the Assign Categories button.
Select the work categories the user is associated with and should be auto assigned to on a work order.
Hit the Save button.

Once enabled and categories are associated to the user, you can now use this feature from the work order form. Simply select a work category and the Assign To field auto fills.

From any work order form, click on the Work Category field and select a category from the drop down.
The associated technician is now auto assigned to the work order.
This feature makes creating work orders consistent, removes guesswork, and speeds up the process.
